What we do to protect the environment

In order to contribute to safeguarding the environment and the magnificent natural setting offered by the Morvan Regional Natural Park, we implement actions aimed at limiting the environmental impact of your campsite activity as much as possible.

Economical waste management

  • We have set up selective sorting containers. We sort the recyclable waste container manually and daily, in order to avoid any sorting error which could corrupt the recycling of the packaging, which makes it possible to increase the recycling rate, and to contain the cost of waste treatment, and thereby even that of your stay.
  • Composting food scraps. We have chosen to create a composting area on site, in order to avoid the unnecessary transport of food scraps by truck. The compost created will be reused for the plantations of the campsite, as well as to nourish the soil of a vegetable garden.
  • With your help in carrying out selective sorting scrupulously, we could reduce the weight of final waste by 80%, recycle 90% of packaging and generate several hundred kilos of compost per year.
  • All clean packaging boxes in good condition are recovered (those of products purchased for camping needs as well as those thrown away by our customers), and given to a mail order partner company that uses them to ship its package. These boxes thus have a second life.

Efficient water and energy management

  • We regularly check the campsite's water meter to ensure that there are no leaks.
  • All the taps in the sanitary building are equipped with aerators allowing a saving of 35% of water.
  • The vast majority of lighting in the campsite and chalets is LED.
  • Our chalets all have reinforced insulation allowing both heating savings and the comfort of their occupants.

Intelligent maintenance of green spaces

  • We do not use any phytosanitary product for the maintenance of the ground, no pesticide, no selective weedkiller, thus, our roofs are demossed by hand (spatula, brush and blower) without the addition of anti-moss product and the floors are not treated.
  • Our chalets and terraces are cleaned on the outside with a high-pressure water jet without adding any chemicals.
  • The slopes of the campsite are the subject of a seasonal mowing, which allows the fauna, the flowers and the strawberries to prosper (the latter are thus consumable for our campers). During periods of summer drought, it also helps to retain moisture on the ground and helps to reduce the heat.
  • Whenever possible, we use electrical equipment for the maintenance of green spaces (small brushcutter, hedge trimmer and small chainsaw) in order to limit atmospheric and noise pollution linked to the maintenance of the grounds.
  • We have a plant shredder. The pruned branches are crushed on site and the shavings are partly used to make compost, are partly spread on the ground, and the excess is given to an organic farmer in the sector who produces in permaculture.
  • The cut trees are gradually replaced, in particular by trees, including fruit trees.
  • We want to preserve our trees as much as possible, and tree cutting is only carried out when the trees concerned are weakened and represent a potential danger.

We are in a process of continuous improvement in environmental matters, and we are counting on your collaboration during your stay to get involved in these actions to preserve the environment. We are also open to any suggestions from you that could help us do better.
